Mary J. and Jamie rocked this joint.
Mother's Finest is an interracial rock group from Atlanta. So all that "experimentation" you see coming out of Atlanta, with the likes of Cee-Lo, the Dungeon Family, etc. . . just know that it's nothing new. Atlanta has pushed the musical envelope for many, many decades.

For All My New Orleans Bounce Fans
If you from New Orleans, then you DEFINITELY know this track from Da Entourage. Hell, if you went to an HBCU, you probably heard Bunny Hop at every party you went to! Well, here's the original. They didn't even sample my man Curtis Mayfield. . . they just snatched. But I party hard to the track!

Who Rocked It Best?
Periodically, I'm gonna drop straight remakes of old school songs, and you be the judge of whether or not the new artist did the song justice. Hell, maybe the new artist completely ripped it better than the old artist!
This week, we start with two Philly natives, Ms. Jaguar Wright and Ms. Patti LaBelle. Jaguar has recorded songs with The Roots, and, most notably, with Jay-Z during his "farewell" show at Madison Square Garden and during his MTV unplugged set. LaBelle needs no introduction. Originally recording in a group known as Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles, LaBelle went solo in the seventies and has since enjoyed numerous #1's and grammy awards as a solo artist.
