I'm Gonna Find You, And Make You Want Me. . . .

Enya is an Irish singer and songwriter. She is the country's best selling solo artist, and the second biggest overall artist, right behind my boys U2. The wildest thing I found out about Enya is that, throughout her career, she has performed in 10 different languages. . . . step ya game up!

Who Rocked It Best? II

*LINKS FIXED*

This week, we have Roberta Flack's original "Killing Me Softly" and the cover by the Fugees. If you didn't know (it's ok, I'm not here to judge anybody), this is the song that put the Fugees, and specifically Lauryn Hill, on the map. The Fugees "Killing Me Softly" was featured on their 1996 sophomore classic release The Score.

Who said it was a classic? Well, let's see. . . it was universally hailed by critics as "a masterpiece". It received 5 mics in The Source (back when that meant something). Oh, damn, I forgot. . . . It also sold 18 million copies.

Yea. Classic.

Ms. Flack was no slouch, either. She enrolled at Howard University (HOLLAAAAAA!!!) when she was 15, making her one of the youngest students to ever enroll. Her original "Killing Me Softly" won the 1974 Grammy for Record Of The Year. She was also awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1999. Ms. Flack, you make me proud to also be an alum of Howard.
