Ups and Downs

The Bee Gees have 40+ years in the music industry, selling an estimated 220 million records. They were comprised of three brothers, Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibbs. However, they retired the name "Bee Gees" when Maurice died in 2003.

Gz and Hustlas

Bernard Wright is an American funk and jazz keyboardist born in Miami, Florida. I'm surprised he wasn't on the last DJ Khaled album then. . . .

I Get Lifted Off Gin and Juice

George McCrae is a soul singer most famous for his 1974 hit "Rock Your Baby". It reached #1 on the charts in about 80 countries and sold over 11 million copies. It was even voted as the #1 song of the year back in 1974 by Rolling Stone. However, Snoop turned his moderate hit "I Get Lifted" into his own hit record. "Gin and Juice" was a top 10 hit on the Billboard top 100 and was even nominated for a Grammy.

Father of G-Funk

"Nothing But A G-Thing" is widely regarded as the catalyst for what became known as the "G-Funk Era". This was the laid back sound popularized by Dr. Dre, who sampled soul tracks and gave them that "gangsta lean". The song sampled Leon Haywood's "I Want To Do Something Freaky To You". Haywood, originally from Houston, moved to LA and enjoyed considerable success in the 60s and 70s. He was also Sam Cooke's keyboardist up until Mr. Cooke's death.
