The irony of this track about love being the "best thing"is that this track started out as a diss track on a Tru Life Mixtape. . .

Be Happy
They say pain makes for incredible art. That couldn't be any more truer than in the case of Mary J. Blige. When she was drugged up and in that wild ass relationship with K-Ci, she was puttin out that product! Timeless music, man. . . . just timeless.
How can I
Love somebody else
When I can't
Love myself enough to know. . . .

Tell Me What You Want From Me
It's wild, because ANYTHING from late 90s Bad Boy is legitimately a classic. Not only where they putting out the crazy singles that were being blasted from every radio, but the actual albums were top notch, too!
Remember them days. . . . when people actually put out quality albums? Sean just needs to make the rest of 08 nostalgic and just change his name one more time back to "Puffy". . . .

Curtis Mayfield Is An American Gangster
This is easily my favorite track off that American Gangsta. Hov was really spittin like it was his first album again. I love it. And in case you were wondering, "Short Eyes" was a movie made back in 1977 based off a play about the inmates at the Tombs Detention center in New York.
I'll do you a favor. Email your favorite track off American Gangsta to thesoulsample@gmail.com and I'll give you the sample right here on the blog, plus a little shout out, of course.

More Curtis Mayfield
I got some more Curtis for yall. This time, we have Jeezy, who rocked the sample of "Man Oh Man I Want To Go Back" on his first album, Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101. I've just given yall the remix because Hov is on it.

For All My New Orleans Bounce Fans
If you from New Orleans, then you DEFINITELY know this track from Da Entourage. Hell, if you went to an HBCU, you probably heard Bunny Hop at every party you went to! Well, here's the original. They didn't even sample my man Curtis Mayfield. . . they just snatched. But I party hard to the track!
